Regular readers will know this holiday has been anything but relaxing on the man front. The latest chapter involves a waiter, a lunch date, and the most distracting pair of eyes I have ever encountered.
So I agree to meet the waiter for a drink at lunch, we end up having food as well in a nice place with aircon. He is sweet enough but I still think best not to continue this path much further, call it gut instinct or a wandering eye.
I had told my friend how he had got his knickers in a twist but we were meeting for a drink, the chat that followed:
'Untwisted now then?'
'At the mo'
'Maybe you can re-twist them'
'Probably. Especially as a waiter serving us is cute and checking me out'
I was not exaggerating, this guy had the most wonderful eyes I had ever seen and they were spending an inordinate amount of time looking at me. There was no way I couldn't help but notice.
So after that, he was now stuck in my head.
When we headed back there for dinner later, the eye flirting continued, it was blatant, even the other waiters were talking to him about it. Yet, I was there with family and I got the feeling he didn't speak much English. So he never asked for my number or a drink or anything.
Now I am sitting in the adjoining bar a few nights later writing this, I had hoped for a drink, a blog and some flirting practice but it looks like only 2 out of 3 are on the cards as he is nowhere to be seen at the moment.
Damn shame, those eyes were the best eye contact only flirtation I have ever had. I don't think anyone had ever looked at me like that before, so blatant and so delicious.
He never did appear. But as it turned out, the night had other ideas entirely. Sometimes the universe has a funny way of making sure you're never short of company.
