Welcome to the Warehouse
After months of looking on dating apps for someone I like who is close to my age and only ever finding guys who were either not my type, boring, looking for a wife/mother or arrogant and ghost you the minute they are expected to make any effort, I have finally given up and decided to embrace the idea of a toyboy.
Most of the guys who like me are younger than me anyway, it's just in my head that I should be dating nearer to my age.
I think it's old fashioned so I am going to forget it and just go with attraction/instinct.
As if the Instagram algorithm can now read my mind, up pops an advert for another dating app called Toyboy Warehouse. Yes, it is as cheesy as it sounds, but what the heck. Nothing to lose and plenty of material for my blog to gain.
Now you, like one of my friends, may be mistaken in thinking you can buy in bulk at this warehouse. Keep them stored in the garage for when you need them but alas it is not the case.
On I go and sign up. Not going to pay for the site and I am glad I made this decision as it seems quite amateur compared to all the other sites and when you make any adjustments to your profile it takes days for it to be checked and approved before going live.
I have a skim through some of the profiles and the irony hits me. On the one site where I am supposed to be liking guys younger than me, I find two men who are attractive and they are both in their 40's.
You can't see chats or visitors to your profile without paying, only winks and cute little cards you can send people. So this makes it almost impossible to match without paying. I notice some people are putting a Telegram account in their profile for people to make contact. I have no idea what this is, so it's time for me to learn something else new.
5 minutes later I am the proud owner of a Telegram account. I add this to my profile but it takes time to be approved. In the meantime I give a couple of winks out. 😉
I have another perusal of the options and have to have a laugh at some of the profile names, I mean the jokes just write themselves, we have:
BigLargeHard - 25. He hasn't left much to the imagination with the username, has he. I'll give him points for commitment to a theme.
Manservant - 31. He believes that things have changed from powerful and successful men using their status to get hot young women and now it is the powerful and successful women indulging in the pleasures of the most exquisite male flesh that society has to offer. (his spelling: ezquiste - I am assuming he thinks he is exquisite)
Sweetlover91 - 34. No picture on his profile and he is searching for a dominant woman.
